Struggles in Division 6

Written by Magpie at 12:37 23/9-2015

Since we moved up to division six not long ago we've entered four races, with our best result being an eleventh in Race Five just yesterday. While this is nowhere near as successful as we'd hoped, it's hardly surprising. Our team captain Gaius Barcauan is simply outclassed in this grade, his Average of 50 isn't high enough to take him to the top of the board in this division and lacks the specialisation to make up for it. We suspected this would happen, unfortunately Gaius Barcauans talent doesn't allow for him to specialise so we are currently investing in younger riders, 23 year old Antonie Danilescu and 24 year old Radics Zoltan. They both have great potential, Zoltan could be a much better all rounder than barcauan and Danilescu has great climbing potential. They both still have a long way to go though and will require thousands of dollars training before they can supercede our previous achievements. We're also going to build up several other riders to be their support, mainly Romdhane Ouerfelli and Guillaume Akiloye, who both have the potential to win some lower division races themselves. Barcauan is still the teams best rider by a long way but in the future he will also play a supporting role, especially as he ages past his prime in coming seasons.

Thanks Super velo, Danilescu has a good in climbing which I aim to develop but other than that most of my riders talents are small or average. I've been slowly rebuilding the team over the last few seasons or so, starting by hiring a few staff. I think with the riders i'm currently developing I could have a really strong base of support for a really good captain if I can find one. Thank you for yo

To continue. Maybe reboot the team and try to acquire a better captain by choosing only 1 discipline such as climb, hills or sprint, or TT. Which you don't seem to have now. An all rounder like that won't go far, he needs to be more specialized. Then get some team mates to help the captain. Don't give up because you can do it, I did. Good luck.

Super Velo at 03:27 24/9-2015
I think the problem is the lack of a stand out captain. Plus the team support is lacking. Even though a 50 av is very good, ther needs to be a couple of goods or a very good in theere someplace. Barcauan lacks that so he won't be able to advance your team much more.
